SQAIRZ, a performance footwear company known for its distinctive square-toe design, is expanding its national retail presence through a new partnership with sporting goods retailer SCHEELS. The move gives athletes another way to explore the company’s footwear across golf, baseball, softball, and pickleball.
Although the initial in-store rollout focuses on golf shoes, SQAIRZ says its full footwear collection, including pickleball styles, will be available nationwide through SCHEELS.com beginning in August 2026.
Why Footwear Matters for Pickleball Players
Pickleball involves quick lateral movements, abrupt stops, short bursts of speed, and frequent changes in direction. For senior players especially, footwear that provides a stable base and secure fit can contribute to greater confidence during play.
SQAIRZ builds its shoes around a patented square-toe design intended to give the toes more room to spread naturally. According to the company, that wider foundation supports balance, stability, and a stronger connection with the playing surface.
The brand also highlights several additional design features:
- A roomier toe box intended to allow more natural toe positioning.
- Stability-focused construction designed to support controlled movement.
- Heel support intended to help keep the foot centered and secure.
- Sport-specific traction designed for dependable contact with the ground.
Those qualities may appeal to pickleball players looking for court shoes that prioritize comfort and stability without sacrificing performance.
A Growing Brand Across Multiple Sports
SQAIRZ says its footwear is worn by more than 200 professional and elite amateur athletes across golf, baseball, softball, and pickleball.
The company also reports that its technology has been examined in more than 120 white papers and studies over eight years. In golf-specific testing cited by SQAIRZ, the company says participants experienced an average increase of 12 yards in driving distance, a 3.9 mph increase in swing speed, and 30% tighter shot dispersion.
Those findings relate to golf performance and should not be interpreted as evidence that pickleball players will experience the same results. However, the company maintains that its underlying footwear philosophy—building a more stable foundation beneath the foot—applies across multiple sports.
What the SCHEELS Partnership Includes
Under the initial rollout, select SQAIRZ golf shoes will be available at SCHEELS stores in:
- Eden Prairie, Minnesota.
- Tulsa, Oklahoma.
- Wichita, Kansas.
- Cedar Park, Texas.
Beginning in January 2027, select SCHEELS locations are also expected to carry SQAIRZ baseball and softball footwear.
For pickleball players, the most relevant development is online availability: SQAIRZ says consumers nationwide can shop its full footwear collection, including pickleball shoes, through SCHEELS.com beginning this month.
The announcement does not indicate that SQAIRZ pickleball shoes will be stocked in SCHEELS stores during the initial retail launch.
Helping Active Adults Stay in the Game
SQAIRZ founder and CEO Bob Winskowicz said the company’s broader mission includes serving athletes as well as people who want to remain active as they age.
That message fits naturally with the growing senior pickleball community, where many players are looking for equipment that supports comfort, confidence, and continued participation.
While no shoe can guarantee better performance or prevent injuries, properly fitted, court-specific footwear can be an important part of a player’s overall equipment strategy.
